Club Films
Films by individual members have also received widespread recognition. Films by James Pope and Barry Pilling won the Preston Millennium Competition in 2003 and 2005, James specialising in spine chilling drama productions and Barry in film animation. The contrasting styles provided a well balanced program in this competition between 6 local Video Clubs.
And in 2007, Carl Brandwood’s documentary “Best Seat in the House” was awarded a Silver Plus standard at the prestigious international BIAFF competition.
Bolton Moviemakers have made a number of Club films in recent years. “A Brief Case” featured a drugs bust and won a silver seal award for best Titles/Graphics at a National film Festival in 2002. By way of contrast another film “The Final Edition” allowed amateur actors and Movie Club members to combine their talents at film making.
The Club’s latest film “At Death’s Door” was made exclusively by Club members and is being entered into local and national competitions where we have high hopes for its success and recognition. Click on the icon below to see a trailer for the film.
